"Gay Nelson only starred in seven movies in her acting career, five of which were released in 1948. With fierce competition for leading lady roles it was a tough time to try and stand out from other A-listers. Perhaps her manager suggested to take some pin-up photos so she could appear in magazines of that time and build her fanbase. Alas, Gay never got the opportunity to play a leading role, dropping out of Hollywood after a small uncredited role in 1951's "When Worlds Collide". She remained in Los Angeles and passed away in 2006 at the age of 78."
